Report on evaluation of New Zealand’s hazardous substances compliance system

An independent Technical Working Group started its evaluation of New Zealand’s hazardous substances compliance system in October 2018. Its report to the chief executives of the Ministry for the Environment and the Environmental Protection Authority is now published.

The hazardous substances compliance system is designed to protect New Zealand and New Zealanders from environmental risks and disasters.

The Technical Working Group engaged with key players in the hazardous substance compliance system, including local government and other agencies, who had the opportunity to provide any feedback to inform the findings of the final report.
