Background: This award is sponsored by AGMARDT.
Purpose: To recognise and reward achievement and excellence in technology transfer in agriculture and horticulture.
Value: $1,000 paid by direct credit, framed certificate and complimentary membership of NZIAHS for one year.
Eligibility: Individual or teams of agricultural professionals who are members of the NZIAHS or eligible for NZIAHS membership or eligible for this award.
Procedure: All nominations must be made on the NZIAHS nomination form. Nominations should include a curriculum vitae and any other supporting material that highlights the nominee’s contribution to agricultural or horticultural science. A brief 100-word citation suitable for publicising their contribution should also be submitted.
Selection: Applicants will be considered against the following criteria:-
- Social, economic, scientific or environmental impacts on the farming, agribusiness or food industries.
- Innovation in two-way communication and dissemination of information between researchers or consultants and clients.
- Achievement in communications and effective use of science and technology in agriculture and horticulture.
Applications are first reviewed by the Awards Committee and then further reviewed by Council.
