Ravensdown Best Paper Awards (at Convention)

Purpose: The award began in 1982 to encourage excellence in the preparation and presentation of scientific papers at the convention. Scientific papers include those based on research, review of research or extension of research using the scientific method. The Ravensdown award has become a tradition of convention and has helped to maintain an awareness of the importance of excellence in presentation skills.

Value: Three awards, cheque for $100.00 each with certificate.

Eligibility: The award is made available to each participating society at convention. Each Society is responsible for organising its own judging panel and setting its own standards. The participating societies may also decide whether to make one or more awards and how they may split these, perhaps for best paper overall and the best first-time paper. The award excludes keynote papers and papers presented at plenary sessions.
